Orioles tickets are hot this season! The Baltimore Orioles, members of the Eastern Division of the American League, were established in 1901, and have been based in Baltimore since 1954. The team is currently owned by Peter Angelos. Originally the Milwaukee Brewers since 1894, the team officially became members of the American League in 1901. In 1902, the team moved to St. Louis and became the Browns. In 1954, they relocated again, this time to Baltimore, and called themselves the Orioles instantly upon transfer.

The Glory Years for the Baltimore Orioles occurred from 1966-1983 with the help of The Oriole Way ethic, Cal Ripken, and the Weaver Ball. In 1992, Oriole Park at Camden Yards opened and it was met with immediate success. Peter Angelos bought the team in 1993, thus returning it to local ownership. Baltimore has also hosted the All-Star Game.

In 1995, Cal Ripken, Jr. broke Lou Gehrig's consecutive game streak record. While Gehrig's record was 2130 games, Cal Ripken finished with 2632 straight games. In 1996, under managers Pat Gillick and Davey Johnson, along with players such as B.J. Surhoff, Randy Myers, and Roberto Alomar, the Orioles won the American League wild card spot in the 1996 season. The team also set the record for home runs with 257.

In 2006, the Orioles contributed more players to the World Baseball Classic than any other team in Major League Baseball. There were a total of 11 Orioles that suited up for their home nations. In roughly the middle of the 2007season, manager Sam Perlozzo was replaced by Dave Trembly. Trembly was welcomed with open arms.

Dave Trembly is now entering his first full season as team manager, and this team looks like it is re-building. Miguel Tejada was to the Houston Astros for Luke Scott (outfielder), Matt Albers, Troy Patton, Dennis Sarfate (all pitchers), and Michael Costanzo (3rd baseman). The Orioles also have two new coaches: Rick Kranitz (pitching coach) and John Shelby (1st base coach). It is rumored that Brian Roberts will also be traded. We'll keep you updated. Aster 10 seasons with losing records, it looks like the Orioles are going to start over from scratch. Trembly seems confident with Luis Hernandez at shortstop and he is looking forward to an improved pitching team at Spring Training. Chris Ray and Danys Baez will unfortunately be out for the season. Baltimore fans are hoping this season is better than last. As always, Go O's!!
